|Abstract||This invention relates to a new composite material having good mechanical shock Attenuating properties. It particularly relates to a new composite material in the form of . specially encapsulated ceramic honeycomb inserts like antimine boots capable of providing protection, particularly to the legs of the personnel exposed to landmine blasts. The new composite material has good mechanical. shock attenuating properties comprising a honeycomb structured monolith of ceramic material like cordierite (2MgO.2Al2O35SiO2) Or mullite (3AI2O3 2SiO) or their combination encapsulated within a rubberized Kevlar fabric which is inturn moulded into a block of an un vulcanized rubber.|
