Title of Invention

A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MOSQUITO LARVICIDAL EMULSIFIABLE CONCENTRATE (EC)

Abstract This invention proposes an environment friendly mosquito larvicidal emulsifiable concentrate. The mosquito larvicidal of the present invention is prepared by first preparing a solution of 10 to 12% by weight of dried and powdered ipomea leaves in water, and adding sequentially 35 to 50% by weight of calcium carbonate powder, 6 to 10% by weight of Azadiradita indica oil and 300 % by weight of dried, grinded powder of sodium chloride.

This invention relates to a process for the preparation of mosquito larvicidal emulsiflable concentrate (EC). The mosquito larvicidal (EC) is useful of kill larva/pupea of mosquito.
Mosquitoes are the main group of insects in term of public health significant as mosquito’s transmit nmning diseases like malaria, filariasis, dengue etc. Insecticides consisting of chemicals are known in the art to kill mosquito. There are certain disadvantages associated with the use of the conventional insecticides. One of the main disadvantage is that the use of the conventional insecticides causes environmental pollution.
Another disadvantage is that the use of conventional insecticides is very costly and is also health hazardous.
Therefore the main object of this invention is to provide a process for the preparation of a mosquito larvicidal emulsiflable concentrate (EC) which is environmental friendly and do not cause any kind of pollution.
Another object of this invention is to propose a process for the preparation of a mosquito larvicidal (EC) which is cheap in cost and easy to use.
The description is to be understood that the same is only an illustrate a particular forms of this invention. However such a particular form is only an exemplary embodiment and without intending to imply any limitation on the scope of this invention. Accordingly the description of the quantity and materials are to be understood as an exemplary embodiment and teachmg of the invention and not intended to be taken restrictively.

According to this invention there is provided A process for the preparation of a mosquito larvicidal emulsifiable concentrate comprising washing and drying of ipomoea leaves at 30±2°C, grinding the dried leaves thus obtained to a coarse powder, soaking 10 to 12% by weight of coarse powder thus obtained in water for 8 to 12 hours, adding sequentially 35 to 50% by weight of the powder of calcium carbonate, 6 to 10% by weight of Azadirachta indicia oil mechanically extracted from washed and dried niM seeds and then adding up to 300% by weight of dried powder of sodium chloride, obtaining the emulsifiable concentrate of the present invention wherein said dried powder of sodium chloride is prepared by drying sodium chloride at 100°C followed by grinding and the said calcium carbonate powder is prepared by crushing calcium carbonate stones and sieving to obtain fine powder thereof.
In accordance with the process of this invention ipomea leaves solution is prepared by soaking 8 to 12% by weight of ipomea leaves powder into water for 8 to 12 hours. Sodium Chloride (NaCl) is crushed into powders/granules form preferably in the amount three times the amount of the ipomea leaves solution.
Crushing calcium carbonate (CaCOs) shell into powder form and in the amount less than the half amount of the ipomea leaves solution. 35 to 50% by weight of the powder of the calcium carbonate shell powder is mixed with the ipomea leaves solution. 6 to 10% by weight of Azadirachta indicia oil is added to the above mentioned mixture and then upto 300% by weight of the powder/granules of sodium chloride is added into the Azadirachta indicia oil mixture so as to obtain the final product which is useful as mosquito larvicidal emulsifiable concentrate (EC).
This invention is not a mere admixture with aggregation of properties but there is a synergetic affect among the constituents. There is also no chemical reaction among the constituents.
The process of this invention is now herein described in detail with the help of the following example.

WE CLAIM:
1. A process for the preparation of a mosquito larvicidal emulsifiable
concentrate comprising washing and drying of ipomea leaves at
30±2°C, grinding the dried leaves thus obtained to a coarse powder,
soaking 10 to 12% by weight of coarse powder thus obtained in water
for 8 to 12 hours, adding sequentially 35 to 50% by weight of the
powder of calcium carbonate, 6 to 10% by weight of Azadirachta indica
oil mechanically extracted from washed and dried neem seeds and then
adding up to 300% by weight of dried powder of sodium chloride,
obtaining the emulsifiable concentrate of the present invention wherein
said dried powder of sodium chloride is prepared by drying sodium
chloride at 100°C followed by grinding and the said calcium carbonate
powder is prepared by crushing calcium carbonate stones and sieving to
obtain fine powder thereof
2. A process for preparation of a mosquito larvicidal emulsifiable
concentrate as herein described and illustrated in the example.
