Title of Invention

A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A BIOFUNGICIDE

Abstract This invention relates to a process for the preparation of a biofunqicide. The process comprises in drawing the strain of Trichoderma harzianum in a novel liquid media for 10-12 days, The strain so obtained is blended and is mixed with the carrier,, talc powder and kept for room drying. The dried mixture is then powdered and then a sticking agent is added to said powder of biofoungicide.
Full Text This invention relates to a biofungicide.
There is no alternative bioproduct to manage root rot disease of mulberry. The only available method is by using chemicals in Dithane H-45 and

In accordance with this invesntion Tr ic ho derma harzianum-l was mass multiplied on sand maize meal media (Isl ratio) and tested in pots against the? disease. Following the observation on its effect on root rot pathogens, it was prepared in the form of a biofungicids. For this purpose, the isolate was first grown in an entirely new liquid media (potato powder-yeast-sugar media) for 10-12 days, blended in a mixie for one minute and mixed with the carrier, talc powder (i 500 ml/kg and kept for room drying (28 + 2 C). After drying it was powdered and Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose was added to it @ 5 gm/kg powder as a sticking agent. The product was packed in polythene bag, sealed and kept in dc\rk/fridge.
In the present invention, a strain of Tr ichoderma harz ianum isolated from soils of mulberry garden. For mass production, the liquid media (potato powder-ycsst-sugar media) which contains

having any side effects either on mulberry or silkworm or on humans.
EXAMPLE 1
Effect of the bioproduct in controlling root rot disease of mulberry has been tested both in the institute's garden as well as in field. At the institute, both pre and post inoculation of the product Cone week prior to and after inculation of pathogen) has controlled the disease by about 75 - 76 7. , where as in field study, it has provided 727. protection against the disease C Table 1 and 2 )r

This invention relates to a process for the preparation of a biofungicide.

In accordance with this invention Trichoderma harzanum-I was mass multiplied on sand maize meal media (1:1 ratio) and tested in pots against the disease.

Effect of the bioproduct in controlling root rot dissease of mulberry has been tested both in the institutes' s garden as well as in field At the

institute, both pre and post inoculation of the product (one week prior to and a-fter inculation o-f pathogen) hasi controlled the disease by about 75 - 76°A, where as in field situdy, it hasr. provided '72"/- protection against the disease (Table 1 and 2).

WE CLAIMS:
1. A process for the preparation of a biofungicide comprising growing the strain of frichoderma harzianum-I in a liquid media such as herein described for 10-12 days, blending grown strain and mixing the same with the known carrier, talc powder and kept for room drying,, the mixture so obtained being powdered and then adding a sticking agent as herein described thereto. 2 „ The process as claimed in claim I wherein the step of blending is carried on for a short, time for example I m i n u t e on 1 y .
3. The process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said
carrier is mixed with the strain @ 500 ml/kg.
4, The process as claimed in claims 1 and 3 wherein
said sticking agent is Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose and is
added to said mixture @ 5 gm/kg
5. The process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said liquid media comprises 25 to 30 gms potato powder, 30 to 35 grams sugar (ordinary), 5 to 8 gms dry yeast dissolved in one It. distilled water,,
6., A process for the preparation of a biofungicide
substantially as herein described and illustrated.
